The Zwolle Accordion Club/Zwolse Trekzak Club – Netherlands

September 9th 2025
Holda Paoletti-Kampl

has been a well-known name for years. The club is one of the largest in the Netherlands. The accordion club began in ‘De Enk’ and has been active for many years, currently boasting over 60 members.

The accordion is a fun, small instrument. Its small size makes it easy to handle and take to lessons and events. You don’t need much: just the accordion and perhaps some sheet music, and you’re ready to play.
The sheet music is easy to play, even if you can’t read music! So you’ll be playing great music after just a few months. With other instruments, it’s a different story!

The club consists of both beginners and experienced musicians. The groups are structured so that everyone can learn at their own level. Lessons are held every two weeks, so there’s plenty of time to practice, and having fun is the priority.

Several ensembles have formed at the club and perform a few times a year. These performances are often in the region. You can regularly see them perform, for example, at the Hattem fair, during Heritage Day at the Passiebloem windmill, or in smaller groups, they make music at a care center.
